Seminars in Law Enforcement

Police Suicide Awareness and Education

Police suicide is a real, and often overlooked, identity within the fields of law enforcement. The staggering rate at which law officers die at their own hand is an issue today and will be tomorrow. These officers have placed their lives on the line for others many times, and because of the daily stress of their profession and the effect it has on their personal life, they have reached a point where they feel like they can’t go on. This course offers an inside look as to why most officers make that ultimate decision to take their own life.

Topics include the following:

  • Root causes
  • Signs and symptoms
  • Prevention
  • Profile
  • Death notification
  • What can we do
