Seminars in Law Enforcement

Gang Identification and Interdiction in Rural America

Learn to identify the threat of gang activity in rural areas, then use your knowledge to help combat growing gang problems. This four-hour course includes background information on major national gangs including how they can migrate to rural areas, their influence on mainstream America, their influence in smaller areas, and their gang identifiers such as colors, hand signs and tattoos. A case study from the Sedalia Police Department will show how they ran an undercover operation with limited funds and manpower that was successful in combating gangs in their area. Come prepared to discuss gang problems in your areas. Bring photos for help picking out possible gang identifiers.
