Approaching Alzheimer's: A Guide for First Responders — Make your First Response the Right Response

This class is designed to help law enforcement officers and other first responders identify cognitive deficits due to Alzheimer’s disease and learn appropriate communication techniques and actions to successfully respond to the needs of a person with dementia. Attendees will learn practical skills to bring about positive resolution to situations such as wandering, impaired driving, shoplifting, firearms, abuse and neglect, and disaster response.
